Paul and Carys always greet you with a welcoming smile and laughter. They are wonderful hosts always willing to help and advise. The bedroom is kitted out so we'll with a lot of thought with guests comfort in mind and the little treats are a welcome bonus on arrival. The dining room is a wonder to behold and a lot of pride goes into the presentation of the food and table setting. There are not enough words to describe the buffet table and cooked breakfast.- Joan and Roger Booth
Thank you both for your generosity, for thinking about those 'little' things - from the box with thread etc in, and little chocolate bars, and biscuits, and fresh bottled water, internet password, to themassive comfortable bed, spotlessly clean big, room and en-suite, beautiful breakfast, just the right amount of chat, local knowledge.- Loraine L
In almost 30 years of holidaying in UK guest houses this is one of, if not the best. Paul and Carys are warm and welcoming themselves and this is reflected in every aspect of their guest house. Our room had everything in it we needed, including fresh milk in a mini fridge (very important to me!) wine glasses, playing cards, biscuits; and bara brith on arrival. The bed was huge and comfy; the room and bathroom were warm and spotless. The breakfast was absolutely lovely and eaten in a beautifully decorated dining room served on more Portmeirion china than I’ve ever seen in one place. There is a guest sitting room where we hung out one evening and read all about Paul and Carys’ renovation of Yr Hen Felin. We stayed 4 nights and it wasn’t long enough: I almost cried when we left. I’m a very fussy traveller and I like to feel warm, welcome and ‘at home’ in a guest house; which is exactly what I got here. My travel tips would be: book dinners prior to your visit; walk to Tŷ Coch; visit the welsh language centre for lunch (drive down to it!)- Sarah P
